Terms of Service
1. Who we are
Phantom Voice ("we", "us") is an AI text-to-speech service operated by Jonathan Walter, doing business as Phantom Reel, Lafayette, Louisiana, USA. Contact: limepoured@gmail.com. By creating an account or using Phantom Voice you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Phantom Voice. You sign in with a one-time email link and are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure.
3. Credits and payment
Generation uses credits: one credit equals one character of input text. New accounts may receive free starter credits. Additional credits are sold as one-time packs through Stripe at the prices shown on the Pricing page. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable and do not expire while the service operates. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. We may change prices for future purchases at any time.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Phantom Voice to:
- impersonate or imitate the voice or identity of any real person without that person's express permission, or create content intended to deceive others about who is speaking;
- commit or facilitate fraud, scams, phishing, social engineering, or bypassing voice-based security or verification;
- harass, threaten, defame, bully or intimidate anyone, or produce sexual content involving real people without consent or any content involving minors;
- create election or political disinformation, fake emergency messages, or content that impersonates a government, company or public authority;
- violate any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
- attack, overload, reverse engineer, scrape or resell the service or its API without our written permission.
Fictional horror, character and entertainment content is welcome as long as it follows these rules. We may refuse, remove content, suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, and we may report illegal activity to authorities.
5. Your content and ownership
You keep ownership of the text you submit and, as between you and us, you own the audio you generate, subject to these Terms and the licenses of the underlying open-source models (currently Kokoro-82M, Apache License 2.0). You are responsible for your inputs and for how you use outputs, including any required disclosures that audio is AI-generated. You grant us a limited license to store, process and deliver your content solely to operate the service.
6. AI output
Generated speech may contain mispronunciations, artifacts or other errors. Review outputs before relying on them. Voices in our library are synthetic and are not endorsements by any person.
7. Availability and changes
The service is provided as available and may change, be interrupted or be discontinued. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use means you accept them.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Phantom Voice is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jonathan Walter and Phantom Reel from claims arising from your content or your violation of these Terms or the law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
